MBBS in Canada

Canada does not offer the traditional MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) degree. Instead, medical education in Canada typically follows the MD (Doctor of Medicine) program. Medical schools in Canada, such as the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine and McGill University Faculty of Medicine, offer MD programs that typically span four years after completing a bachelor's degree. Admission to these programs is highly competitive, and applicants undergo rigorous evaluation of academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and medical aptitude. After completing the MD program, graduates undertake residency training in their chosen specialty, which typically lasts between two to seven years depending on the field.
