Indian Students at Azerbaijan Medical University

Currently, Medical University hosts 1,200 international students from 21 different countries, including more than 200 Indian students who have been studying there for the past 6 years. However, this number is relatively low compared to other popular MBBS destinations for Indian students. As an alternative, students may consider other options within a similar budget range, such as studying MBBS in Bangladesh, Egypt, Kazakhstan, etc.

The MBBS program in Azerbaijan spans 6 years and includes integrated clinical rotations. Azerbaijan Medical University offers the program in three languages: English, Russian, and Azerbaijani. Students from Asian countries like India typically opt for the English-taught program, while those from Central Asian countries like Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan often prefer the Russian-taught program. Additionally, native students from Uzbekistan often enroll in the Azerbaijani-taught program.

It's important to note that Azerbaijan does not follow the ECTS system, which is commonly used in other countries like Russia and Georgia. Students should consider these factors when exploring educational opportunities abroad.
